Well, i've had this problem off and on for at least the last few years. Sometimes, i'll go months without any reccurrence, and then it'll rear it's ugly head all of a sudden and stay with me for a day or two. It bothered me a bit early this week at work, especially while driving (it's my right arm and my truck has a standard transmission).
I got Bengay this morning and it really helped. When i was buying the bengay, i was trying on some elbow braces as well. Even ace brand XL doesn't fit the size chart on the back says XL fit 9"-11" ! Sorry, but i'm just SLIGHTLY larger than that so i guess i'm out of luck.
It was fine this morning, went to the gym and started training biceps. Got thru the heavy barbell curls just fine and then in my last set of single arm preacher curls, it got pretty bad, so i stopped.
Any advice from anyone else thats' had this?, maybe even just a bit more info on "tennis elbow"? Thanks _________________ It don't feel good till it hurts!! |

I don't know much about tendonitis myself. I have a bad wrist from being a waitress but I don't know what mine's called. Sometimes mine is bad and sometimes it isn't. When it's bad I can't workout the same or even do everyday tasks the same. Anyway, hopefully someone else will be more knowlegable than me. _________________ Love many, trust few, do harm to none - Yau man |

| Tendonitis is inflamation of the tendons and it's often caused by overuse. Maybe don't push yourself too hard longhaul and wait a bit until it gets better. does it get worse the more you use it? |

It comes and it goes really. I wish there WAS a way i could take it easy, at work at least, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The bengay really helped and it only bothered me a little bit when i trained tricpes yesterday. But like emma said, when it comes around, it's hard to do the most basic daily tasks. So, when it does happen, i just really monitor what i do. Was just hoping others had the same experience and to see what they did for it. _________________ It don't feel good till it hurts!! |

Well I'm new to this forum stuff. But I do have Tendonitis in my knees from a lot of Basketball. And like you say I get that pain every now and then. What I do after I do any serious excercise to that joint is ice it for a while. (Might Help). _________________ Hey I gotta pull a Baby A. Hit me on my private message if you got somethin' to say. |

Man did i have the pain bad today! I should've seen it coming tho. I had over 3,000 square feet of brazilian cherry flooring to deliver yesterday after an already rough day. Basically, i carry it on my shoulder to where it's going and then drop it down to my biceps and set it down. So, i did this for about 200 reps @ about 100 lbs. a load. THEN, like a moron, i go and train biceps this morning. I do freeweight standing preacher curls at my normal weight, pretty good to go for that. Then i do the same exercise, but with alternating D/Bs'. I got up to my weight limit and then decided to go another 5 lbs. heavier, so i grab an 85. I'm doing just fine up until the 4 th rep or so, and then WOW, the pain hits!! My left arm was useless for about an hour! Fortunatly, my first stop was not till a bit later and was a real little tile job!! Had no ben gay (it's here at home....gotta remember to put it in my work cooler ). It's good to go now,..but DAMN!! _________________ It don't feel good till it hurts!! |

I suffer from chonic neck and shoulder pain, I think I developed it during my years as a wrestler, and I can feel your pain, my shoulder was hurting one day, the day I do my traps and lats, and I was already behind on my workout so I decided to suck it up and workout, I was doing straight arm cable pull down and on my 3rd rep my trap just snapped, I was in so much pain that once I layed down I couldn't get back up, and when I did manage to get back up and stand straight, my shoulder was clearly drooping, it knocked me off my work out schedual fo the rest of the week so I am a lot more careful now.
for the pain I am currently looking into Matt Furey's combat conditioning, his workouts seem really long, boring, and dry but they will supposedly get me over my back and neck pain, and give great endurance and feel more energetic. |

Yeah, my tendonitis hasn't bothered me for some time now. I'm also looking to switch jobs. One ofthe reasons, besides the first one, MONEY, if the fact that the job is so physically intensive, that i'm afraid it's stalling my personal training gains. _________________ It don't feel good till it hurts!! |
