Plans like this are great for many but lousy for some, (like me). Hitting a major muscle group 3 x per week will result in a platue in no time for me. I require much more rest to grow. I use a 4 day split routine and I aim for 3 workouts per week and I stagger the muscle groups used. for instance I will train chest roughly every 4-5 days. It took me many years to realize that classic programs didn't work for me. I guess I'm a stereotypical hard gainer, requiring much more repair time.
I'm not knocking the above plan at all, just letting you know it doesn't work for everyone.
