After almost 20 years of lifting and now that I'm a family man and working shifts I find that when I hit the gym I HAVE to be flexible... by that I mean I MIGHT know what parts I am hitting but I heardly ever know what I'm gonna hit em with ya know.... although one formula I always liked from Dorian Yates was to do a light warm up on a part then two very heavy balls to the wall sets.
For example for bench I might do..
225x15reps..(warm - up)
315x 6-8 (60-90secs rest)
320x 4
(If anythings left after that I might do some heavy DB presses with same MO)
I do this with eveything... its intense but it allows for fast workouts and develops the power I'm looking for. As a cop I'm not looking to look pretty just get thick and strong.
