| I've heard people say you don't have to worry about being a powerlifter if you just want to look good... this true? or should I be concentrating on lifting a lot in order to look good? |

I would say take a balanced approach. For the most part powerlifting isn't about simply looking good. However, people who are, or have had a background in power lifting, often have a nice "dense" looking muscle frame. _________________ Just one man's opinion!!

| get fit hit the nail on the head. powerlifting and bodybuilding go hand in hand. you can build a good deal of quality muscle with powerlifting. you can look pretty darn good too if you just eat clean. look at Kennely for instance. the man benches 903 and has a six pack. what more could you want? |

I agree. Mix it up a little- do some lighter, high rep sets, and pyramid up to some heavier, low rep sets. This method is a few years old, but you get the benefits of both bodybuilding and powerlifting with this kind of work |

Arnold said he had an advantage over other competitors because he had a powerlifting background. So its for looks too.

I like the pyramid...I don`t do it all the time...but I do have a routine or two based on it.
About every six to eight weeks I like to switch into straight power-lifting...usually for about three or four weeks.
It`s good to shake things up and let`s me really test my limits. _________________ I`m not conceited....I`m convinced! |

1 thing I find difficult about powerlifting is that I always feel like something is going to get injured during those intense sessions
I did hurt my shoulder once |

| It's so easy to hurt your shoulders. I hurt mine once, too-and now I have to control my lifts very carefully, especially with bench presses and flys. |
