|

Hi Guys, Its back to the gym....We have been horrible lately. Anyways now to my Issue. My Wife
(27 years old) Is having some lower back pain sometimes due to bad posture/possibly to a little bit of a disc issue. She has seen a doctor but the issue continues. So here is the Question what exercises will help strengthen her lower back and help her posture. Again nothing crazy here guys, some good quality exercises that will be easy and not difficult. She does the doctor ordered exercises in the morning but those are just simple exercises. |

Hey...when it comes to being horrible lately, you're not alone...TRUST ME
As for the back exercises, check out www.exrx.net and search for the following exercises: romanian deadlift, regular deadlift, back extension, and superman. There are probably more, but you won't have any problems finding them there. They have pics and vids of exercises being performed, so it gives you something to go by.
BTW...welcome to the board...its been fairly slow here lately, but hopefully it'll pick up soon. |

Actually if she is having back pain and has a weak back it is most likely becasue she has weak abs. No offense but it is the number 1 reason for lower back pain in adults (weak abdominals). It is the same for bad knees (weak hamstrings). The front of your body depends on the back of you body for support, and vise versa. _________________ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

| Good point, her back seems to be doing better when she works it out now. But I will mention that too. We should work abs also. |

also.... stretch out her hamsting a little, cause tightness in the hamstring will casue pressre on the lower back....
fix up her posture too.... so like close grip lat pulldowns would help pull the shoulder blade back down, lifting the chest up.... and relaxing the traps... so when she stands it will not be so "round" and it will help with the lower back |

That's right. If the hamstrings get really tight, then it will pull your back muscles and neck muscles all the way up to the base of the skull. I have had this problem before while working hard on hamstrings. _________________ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
